Susie was discovered living rough in a farmyard. Although the farmer was feeding her, she was terrified of people and impossible to catch and would only eat her food when no one was around. Eventually she was enticed into a shed with food and the farmer managed to close the door behind her.

Our Welfare Representative managed to catch her and she was taken to a veterinary surgeon for a health check and spay.

Susie was terrified of everyone and everything and spent all her time hiding in a corner. When approached she would shake in terror, hide her head and flinch at the gentlest touch, her tail was permanently tucked between her legs. After about a week, Susie started having epileptic fits, she was put on medication which controlled the condition.

Susie continued to hide in corners, shake and cringe when approached. After approximately a month in the care of our Secretary a slight improvement was noticed. It appeared that Susie would like to make friends but was still too frightened, the end of her tail had started to give the beginning of a small wag at feeding time and on coming down to her in the morning.

Then Susie's luck changed, she met Sara who maintains our website. Sara and Damian adopted her. Unfortunately the fits continued and Susie visited local vet Tom Farrington. Tom practices both conventional veterinary medicine and homeopathy and after many months trying various remedies, she is now fit-free and has remained so for more than two years. She is now a happy little lady who while having little time for the other dogs in her home, is very attached to Sara and her red car, welcoming  it home enthusiastically.
